Multi-Layer Filtration System

The Miele S4780 Orion uses a multi-layer filtration system which increases the life of the high filtration exhaust filter. The air passes through their high filtration 3-Layer HyClean Bag and a secondary electrostatic filter before reaching the special exhaust filter. Each layer of filtration captures more particles as the air passes through them. Ideally, multi-layer filtration enhances performance by ensuring good air flow through the system. It prevents large particles from reaching and blocking the exhaust filter, saving it for critical particle retention.

The Miele Orion Galaxy vacuum comes with their Active Certified HEPA exhaust filter installed for exceptional allergen filtration. It is also equipped with an indicator to show that it's time to change this filter after 50 hours of use to maintain its outstanding performance. Finger-Tip Electronic Motor Speed Control

The optional SBD 450-3 Deluxe Rug/Bare Floor Nozzle enables you to clean your carpets without the cost of a revolving brush roll. This is a combination tool with a top mounted lever to switch between carpets and bare floors. For bare floors a brush strip along the front and squeege along the back pop out to provide soft, non-scratching cleaning action. Notches along the front of the brush allow dirt to easily enter the nozzle. For carpets and rugs, the brush strip and squeege are recessed, allowing the channeled steel sole plate to contact the carpet, pulling air through the nap to clean it.

To increase the performance on carpeted floors, agitation of the carpet fibers by a revolving brush roll is required. The optional SAB 100-3 Accu Nova Electro Brush is designed to deep clean low to medium carpet naps. The Accu Nova Electro Brush automatically stops the revolving brush roll when used on bare floors. Using long-lasting, rechargeable nickel metal hydride batteries, this nozzle provides consistent brushing action, being driven by an electric motor without the inconvenience of a cord that needs to be plugged into the hose. A battery charger and two batteries are included with the Accu Nova Electro Brush. Each battery delivers over 45 minutes of run time and recharges in only five hours. Please note that this powerbrush had been discontinued by Miele due to excessive problems with the batteries.

The optional STB 205-3 Turbobrush is driven by the air flow instead of an electric motor. This nozzle can be used to clean small areas of bare floors as well but the brush roll is always spinning. Since the brush is driven by a turbine instead of an electric motor, it's brushing action isn't as consistent as on the SAB 100-3 Accu Nova Electro Brush shown above.
