Multi-Level Filtration with Optional HEPA Filtration

The standard five stage filtration system includes a high efficiency double walled paper bag, washable inlet filter, multiple vacuum motor/carbon brush filters, and a permanently charged electrostatic Filtrete filter for final exhaust filtration. Electrostatically charged Filtrete filters are currently used in hospitals for biological control. This same material used at the vacuum exhaust ensures that all expelled air (including carbon brush dust from the suction motor) is cleansed to a high level of air quality without the higher cost of replacing HEPA filters.

The Lindhaus filtering efficiency testing is performed by an independent ASTM (the American Society for Testing and Materials) Certified laboratory. Their published data gives you the facts to make an informed purchasing decision. The net filtration efficiency when using their standard Filtrete filtration media is rated at 98.28% at 0.3 µm, 99.06% at 0.4 µm, 99.61% at 0.5 µm, 99.86% at 1 µm and greater than 99.98% at 2 or more micrometers. A micrometer is 1/1,000,000 (10^-6) meter. ASTM net filtration is derived from testing the complete vacuum cleaner in operation versus the filter media alone. This is important for your home because it is the only rating system that measures total equipment efficiency.

If even greater filtration is needed, the Lindhaus HEALTHCAREpro HEPA is designed to be used with their optional Certified S-Class HEPA final exhaust filter. For removing the super fine dust and allergens, this filter has an efficiency of 99.97% at 0.3 µm size particles. The complete system is sealed to prevent dust from leaking before reaching this final filter so net filtration should also meet the stringent HEPA specification. Dust leakage can be a major problem with various uprights, including some which are using HEPA exhaust filters.

Convenient On-Board and Optional Attachments

The 14" wide Lindhaus HEALTHCARE pro eco FORCE currently comes with a convenient on-board black stretch hose, telescopic wand, crevice tool, upholstery tool with snap-on brush strip, and 5.5" wide snap-on natural hair dusting brush. Since Lindhaus has gone through a number of revisions in the specific attachments included with this model, be very careful when comparison shopping to ensure that you would receive this more deluxe attachments set. By removing the motorized carpet nozzle, an optional bare floor brush with snap-on felt pad an be used on the main unit to form a powerful "electric broom" for cleaning your non-carpeted floors. Alternately, you can use the floor brush with the hose and telescopic wand to reach under very low furniture. An optional wheeled floor nozzle with one brush strip is also available for similar use but on both carpeted and bare floors. An optional oval dusting brush with 90° swivel, curved wand handle with suction control, radiator brush for on the crevice tool are also available.

Electronic Logic Monitors the Brush Speed

The brush motor, belt and brush speed are continually monitored by a sensitive electronic control, guarding against overload while ensuring optimum performance. Incorporated into the integrated circuits are speed indicating LEDs which assist the operator in adjusting the nozzle to the most efficient brush height setting. If a large object inadvertently enters the cleaning nozzle and drastically slows or stops the brush roll and motor, the electronic control shuts the unit down instantly to prevent internal damage. It responds to these emergency situations with much greater swiftness than the mechanical circuit breakers used in many other power nozzles. Unplugging the unit while dislodging the object automatically resets the overload protection circuit. Alternately, you can simply move the unit into the vertical position to reset it.

Precision Engineered Motors

Commercial quality can be seen through out this two motor upright, especially in the construction of its motors. The ends of the armature windings are welded into their commutators, providing exceptional contact and durability. The armatures, as well as the completely assembled motors, are computer balanced to reduce vibration and assure low sound levels. All bearings are ball bearings which are mounted in rubber boots to reduce the transfer of vibration to the motor frames. The precision engineered design and construction of the suction and brush motors assure long, dependable service lives.

Two-Stage Suction Motor

A quiet, powerful two-stage suction motor provides exceptional of air flow for cleaning all types of floors and for above-the-floor cleaning with the on-board attachments. The use of two fans pulling together reduces the sound level and maintenance costs by allowing the motor to operate at a lower speed. It is rated at 77" of water lift and 102 CFM of air flow while using only 600 watts of electrical power. When combined with the power nozzle, this complete vacuum efficiently uses 850 watts of power.

Center Mounted, Funnel Shaped Air Intake

The center mounted air intake behind the brush roll flares out to the edges of the cleaning nozzle as it approaches the brush roll. This wide funnel shaped opening causes the air flow to be distributed quite evenly across the entire cleaning width for more efficient and uniform cleaning. This also creates a flat dirt collection area immediately behind the brush roll so dirt and grit are gathered and whisk away by the air flow before they can bounce back out of the nozzle. This substantially reduces the scatter effect which many uprights experience when picking up grit and small stones.

Cog Type Drive Belt

The cog type drive belt provides positive power transfer from the motor to the revolving brush roll. This is accomplished by incorporating cogs (gear like ridges) into the belt's inner surface which mesh with cogs on the pulleys of the motor and brush roll. The belt is reinforced to prevent stretching and to resist breakage over its entire life span. The non-slip cogged belt keeps the brush roll revolving at its normal speed year after year for maximum effectiveness. This durable cog type belt, which is warranted for three years by Lindhaus, typically lasts much longer.

Sturdy Metal Brush Roll Supports

The extra large cast aluminum brush roll supports ensure that the brush roll is properly positioned while reducing wear and overheating of the main housing. The ball bearings which are integrated into the supports are cushioned by rubber boots (mounts) to dramatically reduce the transfer of vibration from the brush roll.

Durable and Effective Brush Roll

Effectiveness is accomplished by arranging the bristles in a 360 degree convergent format on a brush roll spinning at 5000 RPM. The steep spiral of the bristles, combined with this high speed, efficiently moves the dirt toward the dirt intake. The long wearing bristles are designed to withstand even hard commercial use. For extra quiet operation, the brush roll is computer balanced after assembly and is supported by rubber cushioned ball bearings.
