This case of 8 Boxes of Miele (Henkel) Somat Special Salt is for use in dishwasher water softeners. Tap water often contains lime. So that lime is not deposited on dishes and the dishwasher, your dishwasher has a water softening unit which withdraws the harmful lime from the water. This is a case of eight 2.66 lb. (1.2kg) boxes.

Table salt is unsuitable for water softening in dishwashers. It may contain insoluble components affecting the efficiency of the water sofening unit.
