	Sanitaire S677D Vacuum Cleaner Introduction

Electrolux Home Care Products North America (formerly The Eureka Company) is one of a very limited number of manufacturers who are still making high quality vacuum cleaners here in the United States. The Sanitaire S677D Professional upright is made by their Sanitaire Division which manufacturers commercial quality vacuum cleaners. It is identical to the Sanitaire SC888 Commercial upright except that it is designed for home use, having a 35' domestic cord, high filtration Micron outer bag and replaceable paper bag. Having begun in 1909, Eureka brand name has a long history of outstanding vacuum cleaners. For many years their Sanitaire Division has had an excellent track record of consistently producing commercial quality products which perform well and seem to last forever. The Sanitaire S677D Professional continues their tradition of excellence with its outstanding cleaning effectiveness, incorporating an efficient motor with extra-large suction producing fan and heavy duty revolving brush roll.

	Heavy Duty Construction

The Sanitaire S677D is a commercial quality upright which is designed for heavy duty home cleaning. Its hood, base plate and complete handle are made from durable chrome plated steel. Even the handle release pedal and latching mechanism are made of hardened steel for extra long life. Eureka is an industry leader, having successfully used Lexan for manufacturing their upright bases, fans, and other parts requiring high impact resistance since the mid 1960s. Lexan is General Electric's registered trademark for a particular type of polycarbonate resin. It is an extremely tough and strong synthetic plastic with the ability to maintain its shape and size even under great stresses over a wide range of temperatures. This makes it ideal for the main base of the Sanitaire S677D. It is light weight but extremely tough, being able to flex and handle high impacts without breaking.

	Efficient 7.0 Amp Motor

Large amounts of air flow and rigorous carpet agitation powered by its 7.0 amp. (840 watts) high performance motor combine in the Sanitaire S677D Professional upright to deep-clean all types of carpeted floors. Featuring lifetime lubricated ball bearings and well constructed motor parts it will perform dependably for many years. When it comes to cleaning carpeted floors, this upright will out perform most uprights, even those with higher amperage ratings.

	Efficient and Durable Suction Fan

The sturdy, well designed suction fan in the Sanitaire S677D is one of the most efficient in the industry. The fan's extra large diameter and tall blades are designed to handle large volumes of air efficiently. This special fan, combined with the extra large air passages and extra large paper bag, produces an extremely high amount of air flow through the system for very effective cleaning. Being made with Lexan, it is extremely tough with the ability to maintain its shape and size even under great stresses over a wide range of temperatures. Its ability to flex with impact enables its blades to take direct hits from large debris with minimal risk of breaking.

The "Quick Kleen" transparent fan chamber lets you see when your vacuum cleaner fan chamber needs to be serviced. This enables restaurants and other food oriented users to easily remove residual food which adheres to the outer surfaces of the fan chamber. For home use this cleaning isn't normally needed but the added structural strength of this commercial design is an additional benefit.

	Commercial Quality Brush Roll

The tempered extruded aluminum commercial brush roll, named the "Vibra Groomer I", is one of the strongest in the industry. It has a contoured spiral design which enhances the agitation produced by the brush strips and beater bars. The brush strips are replaceable, reducing the cost of replacing the complete brush roll. The brush roll revolves on two sealed precision ball bearings which are protected by metal thread guards for longer maintenance free operation. Except for the brush strips, the complete brush roll assembly is metal and should last the entire life of this heavy duty vacuum cleaner. For reduced vibration and extended life, its metal end caps are mounted in rubber when the roll is inserted into the Lexan base.

	Center Mounted, Funnel Shaped Air Intake

The center mounted air intake behind the brush roll flares out to the edges of the cleaning nozzle as it approaches the brush roll. This wide funnel shaped opening causes the air flow to be distributed quite evenly across the entire cleaning width for more efficient and uniform cleaning. This also creates a flat dirt collection area immediately behind the brush roll so dirt and grit are gathered and whisk away by the air flow before they can bounce back out of the nozzle. This substantially reduces the scatter effect which many uprights experience when picking up grit and small stones.

	Micron Filtration System

The Sanitaire S677D comes equipped with a dual-zipper, Micron outer bag with Premium paper bags. This Micron Filter System retains up to 99% of pollens, household dust mites and other allergens as small as 1 micron. Premium bags have the ability to filter out 10 times more of sub-micron size particles than ordinary vacuum cleaner bags. This filtration is accomplished with minimal loss of air flow.

To improve air flow as the bag fills this new dual-zipper outer bag has a long rigid fill tube which transports the dirt to near the top of the paper bag. This tube mates with the new Sanitaire "Style ST" Premium Allergen Filtration paper bags which have some Arm & Hammer Baking Soda inside for fresher exhausted air. Their cardboard mount enables changing paper bags quickly and easily for less down time.

	Far Reaching 35' Power Cord

The extra-long 35' power cord enables you to clean large areas without breaking your pace to change to a different electrical outlet. Its kinkless vinyl cover and the quick release top cord hook enable you to wrap in on the handle and remove it again with greater ease.

	Extra Wide Heavy Duty Wheels

The Sanitaire S677D has extra wide wheels which will roll easily over your carpeted floors while enabling this upright to be easily pivoted for excellent maneuverability around your furniture. Being made with tough vinyl using a reinforcing ribs design, they will perform without breaking for many years to come. All wheels are mounted on steel axles for reduced friction and extended life. The extra wide rear wheel base adds to the stability of this commercial quality upright.
